To unify community groups to foster public respect for animal life.
Our Intent
To work together to promote and achieve the "No-Kill" ethic in
the Oklahoma City Metro Area.
What Is The Alliance?
The Metro Alliance for Animal Life is a coalition of individuals, rescue groups, municipalities, corporations and other non-profit organizations throughout the Central Oklahoma area who are committed to a no-kill environment.
- "No-Kill" does not mean warehousing animals until they die...it involves creating a community-wide response so there are fewer unwanted pets.
- The Alliance will utilize education, spaying and neutering, adoptions, advocacy and improved support systems for citizens and their pets as tools toward reaching the goal.
- The Alliance will work with, not compete against, local rescue groups, helping them to reach their individual goals in a supportive atmosphere.
This Is Our Problem To Solve Together
We can all participate in the solution if we:
- Spay and neuter our pets
- Tag and vaccinate our pets
- Report all abuse and neglect cases
- Volunteer our time at a local shelter or rescue group
- Join the Alliance and be active on a committee
- Create more adoption outlets for pets needing homes
- Donate money to the animal rescue group of our choice
- Educate the public on responsible pet ownership
- Adopt a pet from a local shelter or rescue

Why Do We Exist?Oklahoma City Shelter 7/1/06-07 Statistics:
- Animals Sheltered - 29,417
- Animals Saved - 8,487
- Animals Killed - 19,365
Of the animals killed, 18,002 were identified as "adoptable" pets.
